Twisted Arrow is a story-based archery-style shooter from Phaser Lock Interactive. You play as an agent armed with a super fancy techno-bow, loosing overpowered arrows into the bodies of a high-tech paramilitary force occupying your city.
3 GREAT THINGS:
1 - Story mode is actually pretty rad. Sort of a Goldeneye feeling. Moving freely around city feels nice. Dodging bullets feels good.
2 - Being an archer is a cool spin on FPS Genre and you can choose diff arrows.
3 - Shield and smart bow - Forgot I had that a lot
3 NOT-SO-GREAT THINGS:
1 - No Checkpoints?!!!! Whaaa!!!???
2 - Hard to tell why you die sometimes
3 - No level up / unlockables - Skill based play is cool, but would be better if they rewarded you more.
Twisted Arrow is a really fun, but challenging VR shooter with just enough variety and freshness for a good time. Dodging bullets, and loosing arrows into bad guys' faces gives you a distinct "I'm Legolas and this is my city" feeling that you just don't get with ordinary shooters. It feels like a very welcome homage to some of my favorite video games from back in the day. And I give it a very solid 5 arrows to a bad guy face. If you're looking to feel like green arrow, this is the game for you.
Arizona Sunshine is a FPS Zombie survival game from Vertigo Games that puts you in the shoes of an unnamed protagonist trying to find other survivors and a chance of being rescued. You can shoot, loot, and eat burgers to your hearts content as you explore, and search the environment and survive the undead hordes awaiting you in each area. Arizona Sunshine brings an excellent overall VR experience.
3 GOOD THINGS:
1 - Capping Zombies in VR
2 - Decent Game Length
3 - Different Modes including Multiplayer
3 BAD THINGS:
1 - Repetitive
2 - Difficulty Spikes
3 - Can't Melee :(
Arizona Sunshine is a great VR game, and currently king of the "VR Zombie Game" category. It's a wonderful into into the world of VR and is a solid experience throughout. The graphics, models, environment, sound, and gameplay are all great and with the consistent updates from the developers, this game keeps me coming back to Arizona.
RR is an action arcade shooter from Epic games available for FREE with the Oculus Touch.
You take the role of "Agent 34" - tasked by the criminally negligent "Robo Ready Corporation" to RECALL a series of malfunctioning robots (Aka blow their freaking brains out so they stop murdering innocent citizens) you'll find yourself fighting your way across 3 major stages, smackin' down hordes of rogue killing machines. This a game is a blast. Here's our thoughts...
3 GOOD THINGS:
1 - Creative Destruction - tear apart bots, smash them, hit them, shoot them, throw bullets back
2 - Become Neo - Dodge bullets, slow time
3 - Mods - Litterally anything is possible
3 BAD THINGS:
1 - Gameplay can be repetitive
2 - Pretty short story
3 - Levels don't feel giant, although not a big deal.
Overall, Robo Recall is just beautiful. Even with some minor faults, the shear adrenaline rush of tearing apart swarms of robots, dodging bullets, and shooting to your heart's content just feels like a dream come true. It's the fun, action packed, arcade masterpiece that VR deserves, and definitely sets a new standard for VR experiences in the future.
